My story

Meet Mya – Your Fun, Loving Adventure Buddy! Mya is a 1.5-year-old black and white Aussiedoodle (Australian Shepherd/Standard Poodle mix) weighing 55 lbs. With her shiny coat, bright eyes, and goofy personality, she’s the total package of beauty and brains! This sweet girl is full of playful energy and affection. Mya loves going for walks, playing with puzzle toys, and showing off her tricks—she already knows “sit” and “paw,” and she’s always ready to learn more. After a day of fun, she’s happiest snuggling up with her favorite people. Mya is house-trained and working on crate training. She gets along great with other dogs and would love a playmate, though she doesn’t need one to thrive. While she hasn’t spent time around small children, she does wonderfully with older kids and adults alike. She is also good with cats and even cilled with a turtle! Because of her curly coat, Mya will need regular grooming every 6 weeks to keep her looking and feeling her best. She is spayed and up to date on her vet care. Mya does have a poultry allergy, so she needs a poultry-free diet. True to her Aussiedoodle roots, Mya is intelligent, energetic, and eager to please—she would do best with an active family who can provide plenty of playtime, walks, and mental stimulation. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and smart companion to share life’s adventures, Mya is your girl! Our standard adoption fee is $375 if paid by cash or check, or $385 if paid by credit card (which includes a $10 processing fee). This fee covers spay/neuter surgery when age appropriate at one of our participating veterinarians, age-appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative, and microchipping. In order to be considered for adoption, we require a fully completed application, a phone interview, and a meet-and-greet with your entire family. Please note that submitting an application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee approval—it simply allows us to begin the review process. If you are interested in adopting or would like additional information, please email us at adopt@safehavendogsIL.org to request an application. Keep in mind that the breed and size listed in each dog's biography are our best educated guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse the adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant for any reason.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Mya, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
