My foster writes:"Sweet, loyal and ready to bloom"! Meet Toast. This affectionate and devoted dog is quick to learn, eager to please, and everyday his confidence increases a little more. With patience, guidance and love, Toast will be your constant companion and BFF. He seems to have had a rough start in life, but it's clear that he wants to love and be loved. He is so ready for his forever home, and his happy ever after.ACC writes:Toast is a sweet and sensitive pup enrolled in our Shelter Scholars program, where he's working on managing kennel stress and building relaxation skills through mat work. With positive reinforcement and calming routines, Toast is learning how to settle his body and mind, helping him feel more at ease both in and out of the kennel. He's making great strides in developing calm behaviors and building the confidence he needs to thrive.Toast's adoption fee is waived as part of our Pitunia Promo! All ACC dogs over 40 pounds have waived adoption fees through the end of May-so there's never been a better time to bring this special guy home. There is an adorable video of me on social media! Click here to experience the cuteness! My #BoroughBreak Buddy Wrote:We had the best day with Toast. As he is level 3, we were expecting a challenging-ish dog, but he was one of the easiest dogs I've taken care of. He was so good on the leash. He is a bit clumsy and walked diagonally occasionally, but he was so gentle and never pulled. He walked by so many dogs and people kids and showed 0 reactivity. He did great in the busy McCarren park and remained calm the whole time. All he wanted to do was be close to us. In the car he cuddled up on us instantly and fell asleep. He was even rolling on his back because he was so happy to be inside somewhere cool and quiet. He is an absolute mushy love-bug. He seems so treat motivated (he was picking out the milkbones in the bag of jerky because that is all he wanted lol) and was so attentive! Perhaps he would thrive in a foster home if he is struggling in the shelter because he was seriously SO EASY!! My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes: We had a wonderful day with Mr Toast. We took him to Highland park for a nice walk and to get some air. He was immediately so sweet and gentle with us. We were told that he was somewhat of a puller on the leash but did not experience this at all. He walked amazingly on a leash with very minimal pulling. Many different people, dogs, runners, bikers, children, and families passed by him and he did not react once, even when they were close to him! He loved relaxing in the car and taking naps snuggled against us. He was even rolling around on his back for pets and scratches. We also got some lunch with him and he very much enjoyed a pup cup and some bacon. While we were briefly eating in his presence, he did not react once and did not beg for our food at all Primary Color: Brown Weight: 59 Age: 3yrs 5mths 1wks
