My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:1Magnus – The Curious Explorer Magnus is a 1-year-old, 65-pound German Shepherd boy with a bright mind and a nose for adventure. Still young and growing into his full potential, Magnus is a curious, independent spirit who’s always interested in the world around him. Explorer at heart: Whether it’s peeking through the fence or hurrying over to check out new sights, Magnus is alert and investigative—taking in the world with wide eyes and a wagging tail. Politely independent: While he’s often busy exploring, Magnus will come over when you call his name, happily accepting gentle pets before heading off again on his sniffing mission. Still learning: Magnus knows “sit,” though his enthusiasm for discovery can sometimes distract him. He’s treat motivated and will benefit from continued positive training and structure. Toy curious: He loves toys but may still figuring out what to do with them—sometimes dropping them mid-play to go check out something else interesting. Manageable on leash: Magnus may pull when something catches his attention, but he’s responsive and manageable with guidance. Magnus would thrive in a home with appropriately matched canine companions or as a solo dog with dog friends in his social circle.
