My story

Marmot is an almost 4 month old small mixed breed boy, from New Mexico. He came in to a shelter there with his littermates after being found near a dumpster at just a couple weeks of age. He is dramatic, silly, and cuddly, and loves attention. Marmot would do well in a variety of homes, including with kids and other dogs or cats. Marmot is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. He will likely stay small, and is currently only 7 lbs. Here's what his foster says about him: Marmot has been a pleasure to foster. He has done great understanding dog language and getting along with the bigger dogs in the house. He has coexisted with out cats, and tries to make friends with them, but has discovered that they do not want to be friends with him. Overall he doesn't bother them too much. He has taken to crate training. He actually enjoys sleeping in his bed in the crate with the door open. We are working on potty training, he does still have some accidents but will often go on the pee pads if he can't make it outside in time. He is pretty quick on picking up on how to sit, but he finds it difficult to contain his excitement because he is very treat motivated. He will be a fun guy to train as he naturally does spins before meals. He will likely be happy with any family environment. He can be a cuddler on a lap, he can be happy doing zoomies around the house or going for a hike. He is a little bit of a drama king, and can be heard screaming if he crosses a shadow, but he is slowly learning that the world is not so scary!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marmot, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
