Whisker Jar

My story

Sassy, Sweet, Sashays Whisker Jar is a curious and happy girl! She is very friendly and loves to get lots of pets. She appreciates head, ear, neck, and back scratches the most, but is also open to belly rubs! She is ALWAYS making biscuits, whether that be on the sofa, rug, tile floor, or even in the air when she is being held. Her air biscuits are the cutest! Whisker Jar likely has feline cerebellar hypoplasia (CH), so her balance is off and she wobbles (sashays!) when she walks. CH is a non-progressive/non-contagious neurological condition that causes these types of balance and wobbly gait issues; she was born like this so this is “normal” for her! For stability, she prefers to play down on the floor; her favorite toys right now are mouse toys and string/ribbon toys, and we suspect she would go crazy for feather toys, too. She has started teaching herself how to climb onto the bed and couch, and is doing really well! She is a bit more cautious on the dismount and sometimes takes a tumble; but, she gets up, dusts herself off, and goes about her next activity! She is smart, sweet, and curious, and a determined learner. She will let you hold her and cuddle her for a while, and then she is ready to find some cozy space for a nap! She prefers soft surfaces, and would probably appreciate a home with carpet/rugs. Whisker Jar is a super pretty white and brown/tan/taupe tabby with the pinkest nose! Her ideal home is with people who will be around more often than not and give her cuddles and attention. She has a different way of walking through the world, but it’s no big to her!
