My story

Meet Bambi! Though this sweet girl arrived skin-and-bones and suspicious of everything, she's opened up beautifully now that she's safe. Bambi was found as a stray ~ alone, terrified, and severely emaciated. Every rib and many other bones were visible beneath her fragile skin. In just a few short weeks, Bambi has started to put on weight and blossomed into an absolutely gorgeous girl with the softest, most radiant golden coat. She's eating like a champ, sleeping peacefully, and has transformed from a pup who didn't want to be handled to one who positively begs for belly rubs now! She'll even place her paw on your arm while you're rubbing her belly to make sure you don't stop, all while gazing at you with a look of pure and unadulterated bliss. Bambi gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats. She's housetrained but uses pee pads indoors, and regularly sleeps through the night. Bambi is a yes on older, gentle children but a no on younger ones, and she's not leash-trained yet. so she'll need a home with a fenced in yard to explore. She's fine staying home alone while her humans are out, and can get a little anxious riding in the car. Because of the neglect Bambi lived with before coming to Miri's, she is toothless and suffering from partial lower jaw reabsorption, likely from prolonged dental disease that went untreated. There’s no telling how long she struggled to eat, or how long she endured pain with no relief. Because of this, she needs a diet of small kibble and/or wet food. After starving for so long, Bambi is still learning to trust that she'll be fed regularly. If she scores a forever home with canine siblings, she'll be happiest dining in a personal VIP suite so she doesn't have to worry about guarding her food from other dogs. Bambi needs a patient and loving family who will give her time to settle in and get comfortable in her new home. She's such a gentle, joyful, and easy-going presence who has come such a long way in only a few short weeks. Bambi is truly a special girl and will be the light of one lucky adopter's life.
