My story

We have a very special young man available for adoption...🙂...Meet Oakley...😃...This handsome boy is a 1.5-year-old, 82 lb. fellow, who we took in as an owner surrender several months ago. You see, Oakley's humans had gotten him as a puppy, but ended up getting a divorce, which left Oakley living in an apartment in Texas with his mom...Oakley's mom started working very long hours and had to leave Oakley all alone in a crate every day, with no outlet for his puppy energy and no time to train him. Knowing this was no life for a young lab, Oakley's mom contacted us and asked us to take him into our program. When we took Oakley in, he was an emotional mess and in desperate need of guidance...He was confused, completely untrained, and had an enormous amount of pent up energy...😞...As handsome as he is, we knew Oakley was not a good candidate for adoption, until he had a chance to learn how to be a good canine citizen...Lucky for us, we found a foster who was very committed to teaching Oakley what he needed to know and Oakley is now ready to find the home of his dreams...❤ Oakley has turned into a fairly mellow fellow, now that he gets daily exercise. He is house trained, CAT FRIENDLY, affectionate, loves being around other dogs, but will overpower a submissive dog, so a young, friendly, playful canine companion is a must have in Oakley's new home...Oakley is SMART and will need continued training to reinforce what he has already been taught, as well as allowing him to keep his mind engaged and learn new tricks...🙂...Oakley will thrive in a home with a large, physically fenced yard and an active family who will take him on adventures...He LOVES to swim!!! Oakley is one in a million and will no doubt mature into an exceptional companion for some lucky family.
