My story

Meet Maroon Five ACCT-A-227584! Maroon Five is estimated to be around four-years old who's all about love and cuddles! Found as a stray on August 2nd, he's now waiting for his forever family and is available through adoption, foster, or rescue! What Maroon Five loves most is being with people. He's happiest when he's snuggling up close, giving all his love. Maroon Five is excited for his next adventure and hopes it comes with endless cuddles! Videos: Maroon five likes cuddles! https://youtube.com/shorts/ncVK3WKyy7c?si=FPVnupfRmWCb3e1M Playgroup 8/3: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLcnvoGYrJkIbXqhwK2Hctos4eap5jQqcm Behavior notes: Per Day Trip 8/6: Maroon Five is such a sweet, happy boy who gives the best hugs and seems always ready to follow along on any adventure! He had a lot of energy when we first started walking, but after some initial zoomies and lots of sniffing he quickly calmed down and was ready for another hug. He has a very goofy personality, sure to brighten anyone’s day. We had to stop a lot along the trail because Maroon would stop and start jumping to ask for a hug. He would practically cling to my shirt for hugs, whining with a wagging tail, and giving lots of kisses. He’s so full of love, with a bark that sounds scary, but he really is all bark and no bite! Maroon was a little unsure about some foods, ice cream was very confusing and the peanut butter on top was super sticky, but after a few bites Maroon decided he did enjoy his pup cup. Not much interest in toys, just people and other dogs. I can’t wait for this sweet boy to find a forever home to share all the love he has to give! Per volunteer 08/03/2025: Kennel presentation: Maroon slowly approached the front of his kennel. Body lowered, tail low, whale eyes. I offered him treats in which he declined. I showed him my leash, he gave small tail wags. Leash dodged for a couple minutes I just held my leash out so he could get used to it and eventually he out his head through. Leash skills: minimal pulling, Maroon Five walked well through the kennels with minimal pulling. He slightly pulled outside but walked well. Sociability: very handler oriented, allows all handling with some uncomfortableness. A little bit of whale eyes towards his back end where he has some scabs and balding. Would jump on me for attention. Would often come over to me and place his head in my lap. If I moved around he would follow me. He would give small tail wags and had a neutral body the whole time. Play and toys: seemed a little interested in toys. If a toy was thrown he would go over to it and sniff it. No interest in play. Would follow me around but just sit at my feet if I stopped moving. Dog interaction: Met Eeyore through fence. Had a bit of a tense body, high tail, some whining and barking. Was able to be redirected somewhat when called. He has no interest in treats. Met Maverick through fence. Both sniffed each other appropriately. Had a neutral body, low tail. Both walked away from each other. Returning to kennel: Very nervous returning to kennel and needed some encouragement and baby talk. He would run past the kennel, slightly pull back on leash and pancake. Per staff 08/03: PG Notes: gentle/dainty play, social, steerable, good greetings, play bows at new dogs. Per staff 08/03: Maroon Five was a little reactive to me when I approached his kennel, but once out he was pretty docile and friendly. Per staff 08/02: dog was head shy at first, warmed up quickly and allowed pets. Allowed me to lift him into truck without issue. Very sweet boy finder stated he was following people and their dogs around. Seems to really like other dogs. ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia.
