My story

Cassie is a 5-year-old Husky whose world turned upside down when she was surrendered to the NYC ACC in Staten Island. Her family brought her in after she nipped at their 1-year-old—an unfortunate moment they admitted wasn’t her fault. Still, Cassie found herself without the home she loved, quietly hiding behind the people she thought were forever. Since arriving up north, Cassie has been carrying a little cloud of sadness with her. But when you clip on a leash and take her outside, that cloud lifts—she perks up, tail gently wagging, nose to the ground, happily exploring every new scent. She walks nicely on leash, is house trained, and has been great with other dogs she's met. (Sorry, cats and toddlers—Cassie says “no thank you.”) Cassie is ready to move forward with a new chapter. One with adults or respectful older kids. One where she can go on long walks, lounge in cozy spots, and be loved for the sweet, sensitive soul she is.
