My story

**Note: Dongju is currently in a foster home in downtown Toronto, living happily with another dog in a condo. Background: Dongju is a sweet and loving boy who was rescued from a city pound in Hanam, Korea, earlier this year. He stayed at a shelter with other dogs until he made his way out of Korea. Personality and Socialization: Dongju is sweet, gentle, and naturally submissive. He adores people and loves simply being near them. When it comes to other dogs, he gets along well with friendly ones of all sizes and personalities, as long as they’re not aggressive. He enjoys playing with others but also respects their space—if another dog isn’t interested in playing, Dongju backs off and takes it easy. What makes Dongju truly special is how comfortable he is around both men and women—even strangers. He’s soft, loving, and forms bonds quickly, making him a perfect match for someone looking for a loyal and affectionate friend. Behaviour: Though he may be a little cautious in new settings at first, Dongju warms up quickly and loves exploring when he feels safe. Most of all, he’s happiest when he’s with his humans. He does well during car rides, vet visits, and even bath time. While he has limited experience with leash walks, he follows his people and really enjoys it. For a young dog, Dongju is impressively easy-going, obedient and smart. Health and Diet: Dongju is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He’s on monthly parasite prevention and has tested negative for parasites. When he was rescued, he had a mild skin issue on the tip of one ear, but new hair is now growing back, and he’s in good health. He eats dry kibble twice a day and has no known allergies or sensitivities. Ideal Home: Dongju is a mellow and affectionate boy who thrives in peaceful environments, making him an ideal companion for someone who works from home or is retired. Dongju is happiest when he’s not alone—he truly blossoms when he has another friendly dog to cuddle up with. While he’s gentle and easygoing enough to suit just about anyone, we’re hoping to find him a home with another dog who can be his buddy and bring him comfort and confidence. -------------------- For more info about Dongju, or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/dongju/

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Dongju, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
