My story

Volga is a precious female orange tabby kitten who is as sweet as she is special. Did you know that only about 20% of orange tabby cats are female? That makes Volga a truly unique little lady—and she’s ready to show you just how wonderful an orange girl can be! Volga is your typical playful kitten, full of energy and curiosity and always eager to chase toys and explore her surroundings. Volga loves attention from her humans and playtime with her feline friends. She adores being loved on, and belly rubs are one of her favorite treats. Volga was born at Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) alongside her four siblings on 4/21/2025. Volga’s ideal home would be one where she can be adopted along with one of her siblings or join a household that already has another young cat to share in her playful adventures and keep her company. While we can’t say for certain how she’ll do with dogs long-term, she hasn’t seemed to mind the dog in her foster home so far, which is a promising sign that she will do well with a canine friend. All kittens must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with another young cat with which he or she can play and socialize. The majority of no-kill rescues nationwide adhere to this policy. This policy is NOT based on a desire to increase our number of adoptions, rather it ensures that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development.
