Ready for a running buddy who loves to snuggle? Meet Cane, the perfect blend of playful and gentle. This amazing 5-year-old, 20 lb. brindle Whippet mix embodies all the best qualities of his breed: he is intelligent, affectionate, and friendly. He was surrendered by his loving family due to circumstances unrelated to him and is now searching for his new best friend.Cane is a social boy who loves people, children and other dogs -- he gets along great with the three dogs in his foster home. We do not know if he would be sociable with a cat since he has not had any exposure with a feline since coming into rescue. He is already crate and house trained, though it is important to recognize that accidents may occur whenever a pooch is acclimating to new surroundings. He is a quick learner who is now working hard to master his leash skills. With a little positive reinforcement and consistency, this clever pup will be an expert in no time. He enjoys playing, going for car rides, and then doing some canoodling on a nearby lap. No lap available? No problem! A couch will do just fine!Cane would love a home with another dog-friendly pup, but he would be just as happy to have all your attention to himself! His ideal family is ready to continue his training with patience and positive vibes. In return, you will receive endless love, fun, and sweet snuggles every single day. Are you ready to welcome his joyful spirit into your home?* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Cane is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.September 7, 2025, 7:58 am
