Wren is a 10 week-old, 3-pound female kitten from the NYCACC. Wren is a sweet sensitive soul who is so ready for safe quiet home to relax. Wren was brought to the shelter with an injured leg. She has nerve damage likely from trauma which makes it so the her right front leg doesnt bend properly from the elbow down. She has not had any pain in the leg or joints and has no specialized care or modifications needed for her. Her foster mom affectionately calls it her "floppy leg" and she gets around just fine with it working floppily. She loves to run and play with BOTH front paws even when one might go in a direction she doesn't expect. Her favorite toys are ribbon toys - she'll jump straight up to try and catch them when she's in peak "hunter mode." She also loves to play with her adult feline foster brothers (3 and 8 years old). She would be great in a home with another cat who will play with her and once she gets her energy out she is a snuggly gal who can hang with a more mellow crowd. Wren would be happiest in a home without big or active dogs. She would be fine with older more quiet children but would be spooked by youngins. She needs to go to a home with a friendly and confident cat. She seeks comfort from her adult feline foster brothers. At this time we are not pursuing amputation for Wren's lef because it is not painful or hindering her movement. She has adjusted well to her limbs modified movement and gets stronger each day. Should this change and her leg warrant amputation, Waggytail will cover the amputation at our partner vet in Brooklyn. Vaccinated for FVRCP. Microchipped and FeLV / FIV negative. Wren is scheduled for her spay and rabies vaccine on Thursday, August 21, 2025 at ASPCA - Queens Community Vet Clinic (LIC). Should she be adopted before then, her adopters will be responsible for bringing her to and from this appointment. Waggytail Rescue will cover the cost of this neuter appointment but any other vet appointments will be the adopters responsibility. To apply for Wren, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable cat, or final size of any of our adoptable kittens. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the cat into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2466871##
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Wren, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
