My story

Meet Catfish! He’s a 3-year-old black and white male who came from a tough hoarding situation with his four siblings, all of them terrified of people. While his siblings slowly warmed up, Catfish remained our most stubborn case—hissing, swatting, and charging the front of his cage anytime someone got close. For a long time, we saw no progress and considered placing him as a barn cat. But then something amazing happened. A staff member introduced him to a kitten, and something clicked—he realized humans can be kind. From that moment on, he started accepting pets, gave us his first-ever squeaky meow to ask for attention, and even began enjoying cuddles. He now seeks chin scratches, headbutts staff, and loves being held. Catfish still gets scared around new people but warms up once he feels safe and bonds quickly. He absolutely adores other cats—especially kittens—and needs to go to a home with a feline friend to truly thrive. I am available at Maple Grove PetSmart!
