Franklin

My story

Animal Profile: Franklin is an almost 8-year-old Texas Brown Dog bully mix who is a gentle and even-keeled dude, friendly with people and dogs alike! He was adopted approximately 7 years ago and has lived with kids and a cat, and has been no trouble (except his itchy skin!). Unfortunately for Franklin, after seven years his family is no longer able to care for him so he's back in foster care. Franklin is house trained, crate trained (though he prefers free roaming) and knows basic obedience. He tends to pull on leash without input, but is not reactive and he takes treats gently. According to his previous owners he can be anxious with loud noises but in foster care we have found he's easy to redirect when he gets startled. We're experimenting with foods to find what works with him best. He is not high energy and would need to build up stamina to accompany a very active person.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, current rabies/DAPPV/bordetella vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and heartworm test. All adoption fees are donations to a Washington non-profit corporation and all donations go to benefit the animals in our rescue.  Apply online at www.DogGoneSeattle.org Animal History: This dog was rescued from euthanasia at a high-kill shelter in Texas and joined us from Saving Our Strays rescue partner in July 2018; he was adopted and lived in that family home for seven years but was returned to the rescue in July 2025 due to family needs, and is currently being fostered in the greater Seattle area.
