My story

FROGGY UPDATE!! Our little Mega Esophagus is THRIVING!!  Froggy is now 11 weeks and 5.5 lbs! He’s growing like a weed. After further evaluation we do believe the diagnosis of PRAA was incorrect. He’s just simply a Mega E boy. He’s healthy, happy and doing wonderful. He doesn’t miss a beat and the only thing he requires is to eat upright in his special chair and to stay up right for 5 minutes after. He has not had any vomiting spells in weeks with this and is off all medications.  Sadly, we believe Froggy and his siblings are the product of a double merle breeding. We recently learned this boy is also deaf. He may can hear some high pitches but that’s literally it. He’s been started on training with a vibrating collar and he’s picking up on cues quickly. This boy is very smart and so eager to please. We do believe he is a Aussie mix of some sort. He will likely be a smaller-medium sized adult. He’s active and will need an active household. He would thrive with another dog and a large yard, as he loves the outdoors.  We would love to find an experienced special needs family for this boy that has experience with his medical conditions. This boy is doing so well in his foster home and we want to see that carry over to his forever family. Froggy has so much to give to the right person with the patience and ability to help him through his medical challenges that he did not ask for but sadly was dealt.  Froggy is still on medical hold for 2 more weeks to ensure we do not hit any bumps in the road to set him back. As of now, he’s scheduled for neuter on 8/19/25 and as long as we keep on the path we are now he will then be adoption ready to the PERFECT family.  We will be very selective on this boy — yes he’s adorable but he’s not for everyone.  Please reach out with any additional questions regarding his care and or adoption!  If you feel you can give this boy the perfect forever home he deserves — please fill out the app below!  Thank you to all the donors who have donated towards his care for us to get to this point! We couldn’t do it with out you!   Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
