My story

Meet Bug, an adorable 3 month old mixed breed male puppy from the "B" litter, born to the lovely mama October (52 lb lab mix). We expect these pups to grow to medium sized dogs.  October was found with her 6 newborn puppies under floor boards inside an abandoned house in east TN. Over 25 dogs were rescued from this property, having been left to fend for themselves (sadly, this type of situation is not uncommon in this area). Although the B litter had a tragic start, you wouldn't know it - as they are typical happy, friendly puppies who love everyone! These resilient pups are ready to put their pasts behind them and find their furever homes!  Bug is a super sweet boy who gets along great with other dogs, cats, people, and kids!  Young puppies are like blank slates - with proper training and socialization, they will grow into wonderful dogs.  He is medically up to date (age appropriate), and working on crate and house training. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save.
