My story

Meet Sky! A devoted ten-year-old American Pitbull Terrier currently living in Gadsden, AL, whose snug blue-and-white coat wraps around a heart that’s pure gold and a body built like a beefy little tank with the tiniest nubby legs. With a face that could melt the iciest of hearts and a snore that doubles as a lullaby, Sky is a seasoned cuddle connoisseur who’s ready to spend her golden years as someone’s constant companion! Sky is all about the simple pleasures in life: a sunny patch in the yard for a blissful nap, a cozy fireplace when the chill rolls in, and a comfy front seat for car ride snoozes. She’s house-trained, knows her basic commands like sit, stay, bed, and no, and she’s always game to hop in the car for a quick errand or a cross-country road trip. She’s got that “I’ll go wherever you go” spirit, just as long as she’s your one and only! This soulful girl needs a quiet, stable home with adults or older kids and, very importantly, no other pets. Sky is not compatible with other animals and needs to be the only four-legged friend in her home. While she’s always been loving and gentle with people, Sky is reactive to other animals and has a strong prey drive. Tragically, there was an incident where she killed a stray cat. A calm, pet-free environment with a secure fenced yard is essential for her safety and peace of mind. Though she’s dealt with some anxiety, her gentle heart shines through with the right support, love, and structure. She’s done well with training, has tried calming aids, and responds beautifully to affection and consistency. Her snuggles, toe-tapping greetings, smiley face, and wiggly butt dances are just a few of the rewards waiting for the lucky person who welcomes her in!
