My story

Hi! My name is Jasper, and I just turned one! I'm a female German Shepherd and weigh about 40 lbs. Earlier this summer, I was found wandering the woods in Jasper, AR - that's where my name comes from! The people I currently live with are pretty sure I was dumped there. They've been taking good care of me while they find me a forever home, but their older dog that lives with them doesn't care for me too much, so they're hoping to find a family that's better suited for a girl like me! I'm very energetic and love to play! Like my German Shepherd friends, I'm super duper smart too. In fact, I learned how to heel on a leash in just a day! I'm also crate trained and love sleeping in my crate - it's cozy in there. I get along well with other dogs, but I've never been around cats, so not sure how I'd be around them. I'm also super strong and full of energy, so very young children may not like to play with me - 8 years and older is probably best.A perfect home for me would include an active family because I need lots of exercise - owners who would love a loyal running or hiking partner would be great! And because I'm so intelligent, I'm super trainable and catch on quickly - I just need a family who would love to spend time training me as much as I'd love learning to do new things! I'm also a cuddle bug and love affection, pets, and scratches behind my ear.I'm spayed and up to date on all my vaccinations. Note: Jasper is not located at Humane Society of the Ozarks.
