My story

How this pet arrived: Guizly and Barcelona were brought in by a community member on July 24, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:How this pet arrived: Guizly and Barcelona were brought in by a community member on July 24, 2025.Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Barcelona (#961503) and Guizly (#961504), a bonded pair of shy beauties searching for a calm, cat-savvy home where they can settle in at their own pace. These girls may not greet you with headbutts on day one, but they share a quiet bond and will lean on each other as they adjust to their new world. Barcelona is the braver of the two-still cautious, but a bit more willing to explore and observe. Guizly, on the other hand, needs more time and space before she starts to feel comfortable. Because of their strong bond, Barcelona and Guizly must be adopted together. Both cats will require a quiet, dedicated room to begin their acclimation. Guizly displayed significant fear when she first entered care, including hissing and growling in response to handling. For this reason, we recommend a home without dogs or the hustle and bustle of young children. A setup with cozy hiding spots (both high and low), a variety of food options, and minimal foot traffic will help them feel secure. Guizly, in particular, will need extended decompression time and should be approached with gentle, low-pressure interactions. A cat-savvy adopter who understands feline body language and respects boundaries will be essential. When you come to adopt, please bring two secure, top-loading carriers to ensure a safe and low-stress journey home. When it comes time to visit a vet, we recommend finding a Fear Free certified clinic to help reduce stress and support their ongoing comfort. With time, patience, and understanding, Barcelona and Guizly have the potential to blossom in a quiet home that lets them move at their own pace-together. Shy/Fearful Cat:  This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them. Primary Color: Tortoiseshell Weight: 10.82 Age: 13yrs 2mths 0wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Guizly, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
