My story

Dale is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours! Scroll through his pictures to see his cute video content-- especially the video that his wonderful foster family down in Texas made for him! Dale is what we call a "wash and wear" dog! He is one of those dogs that comes in so primed for a home, we just know it will not take long for him to find one. Dale comes to us from a municipal shelter outside of Dallas, Texas. While he was in the shelter for a few weeks, he was also lucky enough to spend most of his time in their care in a foster home that got to know a whole lot about him for us. Dale lived with two kids, and his fosters called him "the perfect family dog with so much love to give. He is a great mix of affectionate and adventurous." Dale is such a good dog-- he is confident and calm, sweet and a huge cuddler, and very smart to boot. Dale enjoys car rides, going on walks and hikes, fetching balls, and chewing on his Benebones. His foster family reported that he was house trained, too! (Though accidents should always be expected in transition, and Dale has certainly had a big one!). They also reported that he is non-destructive, which we are counting on since we gave Dale a big soft Costco bed in his kennel at the shelter! Since Dale has been at Heartland, volunteers have remarked how pleasant he is to walk on leash. He knows how to heel, and is just very polite. Sometimes we get big pullers, so walking Dale is a breath of fresh indeed! We have had Dale in playgroup, as you can see from his videos, and he enjoys that! He gets along great with our playful dogs like Donkey, and also likes just hanging out with our more chill pups like Doyle. Dale stays calm even around cranky pups who give him attitude. He is too refined to engage in that! If you are not already convinced that Dale is the perfect dog, please come and see for yourself. We hope you will come by to meet him soon! Dale’s adoption fee is $300. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
