My story

Evie Breed: Super Mutt (American Bulldog x Lab x Rottweiler x GSD x Boxer Mix) - best guess Weight: ~60 lbs Age: 2 years, 3 months Sex: Female Vetting: Spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations Location: Fostered in St. Catharines, ON Good with: Strangers Kids Medium to large dogs Not suitable with small breed dogs Cats – although I have lived with them, I would prefer a house without them ⸻ About Me: Hi, I’m Evie — a sweet, affectionate, and slightly goofy girl with a heart full of love and a couch reserved just for me! My story began with a rough start: at just 2 weeks old, I was rescued along with my mom and 9 siblings, all of us narrowly escaping euthanasia thanks to DFBH. We were placed in loving foster homes, and I was adopted soon after — but after two years, I was returned. If you’re curious, DFBH will happily share more details with any serious adopter. Despite my past, I’ve blossomed into a cheerful, social butterfly who thrives on companionship. I adore people and enjoy snuggling with both humans and dogs. If there’s a couch or an armchair nearby, you’ll likely find me curled up like a croissant! I’m housetrained and can be trusted loose in the home — I don’t chew things that don’t belong to me. While I’m not a fan of crates, I’m cooperative when my foster mom feeds me in there. I just prefer freedom… and furniture! Don’t expect me to play fetch — that’s your job. I’ll enthusiastically chase a toy, run right past it, and burst into joyful zoomies. Life’s too short to bring the toy back. I know some basic commands, but let’s be honest — I work best when treats are involved. Walks in the city took some getting used to, especially with all those forbidden squirrels. I’m learning to ignore them. I get along great with my foster dog siblings — we share toys, play together, and sometimes even share food (though I’m still learning that counter-surfing isn’t polite). I also bark appropriately to let my humans know when someone’s at the door or in the yard — consider it my built-in security system. I’m smart, cuddly, and full of charm — ready to bring laughter, love, and loyalty to a forever home. After a bumpy start and some detours, I’m hoping to find a family who will commit to me for life. Please, only apply if you’re ready to be my forever. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply here to adopt me: https://form.jotform.com/211694512438255 Adoption fee is $650

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Evie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
