My story

Hi, I’m Barbie, and I am looking for my dream house! You might never guess it from my happy, gentle nature now, but not too long ago, I was found on the side of the road with my pup — dehydrated, exhausted, and just trying to survive the heat. Thanks to some kind humans, we got the care we needed… and we made it.That chapter of my life is behind me now, and every day I wake up grateful, strong, and full of love to give. Even after everything, I still believe the world is a good place — and I’m ready to find a forever family to prove me right.I’m a 2-year-old yellow lab mix with a heart as big as my paws — and I’m looking for my forever couch (oops, I mean home!).I’m a calm girl with a gentle soul, but don’t let that fool you — I love to play, especially with other dogs or if you toss me a ball. I’m really good on leash, and I’ve been hanging out with both human kids and doggy pals in my foster home, so I know how to be part of a pack.New places can make me a little nervous at first, but if you’re patient with me (and maybe give me a comfy bed or a good cuddle), I come out of my shell and start showing my sweet, snuggly side. Kennels? Not really my vibe. I’d rather be curled up on the couch next to you or stretched out in the yard, soaking up the sunshine.If you're looking for a loyal, loving buddy who’s equal parts chill and playful — and who will adore you with her whole heart — I’m your girl. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions.
