My story

Meet Argos! Argos is a 3-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who was found on Harvester on 6/30/25. True to his breed, he’s smart, active, and eager to connect — he just needed a little help building his confidence first.When Argos first arrived, he stayed toward the back of his kennel with worried eyes. With patient handling, he began to trust, and once that leash clipped on, he was ready to head outside! He loves yard time, especially fetch — and yes, he brings the ball back! Over the past few weeks, staff has seen wonderful progress:- Now greets people at the front of his kennel- Enjoys yard time and short training sessions- Loves food games and fetch (especially the purple Jolly Ball!)- Beginning to offer recalls and sit commands- Approached the leash quicker each timeArgos thrives with gentle encouragement and is highly attuned to his handler — regularly checking in for reassurance. He would do best in a home that understands the needs of an active, working breed. Mental stimulation, structure, and positive outlets for energy are a must!* Dog Friendly?Argos has met Lucy and showed respectful, appropriate body language. With slow intros, he could do well with another calm, polite dog.* Kiddo Guidelines:Due to his cautious nature, we recommend children 10+ with parental supervision — just to ensure he’s not startled or overwhelmed.Argos is a wonderful work-in-progress who’s ready for someone to continue showing him the world isn’t so scary.
