My story

Give a round of applause for Shakespeare, an 8-year old, 14-pound Jack Russell/Beagle mix who is as cute as he is kind. Just look at those funny mismatched ears!!! This fella isn’t into much poetry or theatre, but take him for a walk or offer him a belly rub, and he is 100% all in! A bit fearful at first, Shakespeare needs some time to warm up to unfamiliar people and other dogs, particularly larger-size breeds. He is never mean or aggressive; just shy and anxious. But once you win this meatball over, he turns into a sweet ‘lil sausage. Shakespeare is super affectionate, very well-behaved, and extremely polite. A big fan of the great outdoors, Shakespeare enjoys going for walks and breathing in the fresh air. He has excellent leash manners, he’s 100% housebroken, and he rarely barks. The only time he reacts to anything is when he sees another dog and gets scared. Poor thing, he’s so gracious and gentle, but he’s aware of the potential for bullies out there! Shakespeare has a healthy appetite and will never, ever refuse a treat. He’s a good sharer of his food, toys, bedding, and personal space, and tries to avoid drama at all cost. He will stay in his crate if required to do so, but this warm-hearted guy would much rather be snuggled up to you or allowed to roam freely. Shakespeare doesn’t ask for much and he’s SUCH a good boy. If you can imagine sharing your life with this darling little dog, then giving Shakespeare the home he deserves would be a win/win for everyone. To be or not to be…that is the question ;-). If you would like to adopt this wonderful dog, please email rescue@pupstarzrescue.org or visit www.pupstarzrescue.org for an application!
