Odin

My story

Odin is shy at first but once he develops trust, he is so affectionate, loyal and playful. When I first met Odin he would retreat back to his kennel when I tried to put his leash on. The second day I met him he let me put a leash on. Once he was out of the kennel he didn’t pull on his leash and went in one direction to the play yard. He did hesitate when he went through door ways, but he quickly overcame his concerns. Once in the play yard, Odin’s playful side emerged. He crouched down on his from legs, with his tail wagging. He enjoyed zoomies around the yard. He quickly went to potty and relieved himself. In the yard, Odin would stay closer and closer to me. He would stay close enough to pet him. When I sat on the ground, Odin would sit and lean back on my chest to get pets and hugs. When I walked around the yard, he would walk next to me. If he stopped to investigate a toy, he would look up and trot to me. Odin loves treats but takes them gently and waits till I offer them. Once Odin learned the kiddie pool had water, he would go to the pool often to drink. When it was time to go, he easily let me put his leash on. He walked next to me, checking on me to assure his pace was perfect. He did not hesitate going through any doorway. Odin quickly overcame his shyness and enjoyed human companionship. He responds so well to kindness and will be so loyal to his new family. Odin is an adorable shy dog who needs confidence to open up to a loving person. Odin will gently accept treats in front of his kennel. He even licked my hand. When I opened the kennel door he retreated to the back of his kennel. When I left the kennel he would run to the door in the hopes of enjoying another treat. When I visited Odin again, he would accept treats from my hand while I was in the kennel. He was gaining confidence and learning to trust me. However, he retreated when he saw the leash. Odin is so cute and wants to learn to trust again. He just needs a little patience to be your best friend
