My foster writes:Marshall is a sweet, nervous boy who is learning what it means to be spoiled! He is just figuring out the joys of ear-scritches, treats, and comfy couches. He is enamored with his foster cat sisters and bravely tolerates our household dog. He is a BIG handsome boy with a big voice to match - the definition of a gentle giant. He would love a home with some friendly cat buddies, or as an only cat, but with a lot of affection either way. He has just found his voice and boy is he using it.Marshall needs a patient family that can continue coaxing him out of his shell and make him feel safe and secure. The affection you'll get in return is worth it!What my friends at ACC say about me:I have lived with cats in my previous home.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.Marshall is an adult cat that may not have had many interactions with humans from an early age. He is apprehensive of people and while showing no aggressive behaviors, he tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Please be mindful that older cats will require more time and skill in order for them to be comfortable around people, we recommend offering high value treats and food to help build a positive association to humans. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in an experienced, adult only home.A volunteer writes: Marshall has carried within himself a terrific sense of purpose and hope for the future that has been serving him quite well when we consider how far he's come. Marshall may not have had many opportunities to meet new people, as he came to us from a home with many other cats, but he's opened his heart and trusted us enough to let us in just a tiny bit more with each passing day. We can pet him, which he shows us he likes by gently leaning into them. Marshall also lets us offer him treats, which he doesn't always like. Marshall's shown a great amount of progress and it's been so wonderful to see him start to shine, but we know there will be even more to come in a forever home. Primary Color: Black Weight: 10.5 Age: 5yrs 4mths 0wks
