My story

LOCATION: Ft, Worth, TXDOB: 03/23/2024Mocha is a stunning fawn merle Great Dane whose gentle, goofy, and loyal personality is starting to shine. She’s the definition of a velcro dog—wherever you go, she’ll follow, even right into the shower if you let her. Most of her day is spent enjoying the finer things in life: lounging on the couch, stretching out on the bed, or snoozing at your feet. She’s not interested in wild play or roughhousing, but she loves being close to her people and is happiest just being part of the family.Mocha has made wonderful progress in her foster home. She walks beautifully on leash without pulling, isn’t food possessive, and has been learning her commands with the help of a clicker. She’ll sit, lay down, and come when called. She’s also done well in the car and continues to get more comfortable with rides. Mocha is housebroken and is used to having a dog door, so she appreciates the freedom to come and go on her own terms.When it comes to other animals, Mocha does great with dogs but doesn’t need a canine companion to be happy—she’s just as content being your one-and-only. Cats, on the other hand, couldn’t be easier; she completely ignores them as if they’re beneath her notice, which makes her a rare gem for cat households.Mocha can be wary of new people at first and would do best in a low-traffic home with a family who understands that she just needs a little time to warm up. Once she trusts you, she bonds deeply and quickly—falling fast and falling hard.At her core, Mocha is a big, gentle couch potato who wants to love and be loved.
