My story

Meet Ronin – The Loyal Globe-Trotter Looking for His Forever Peace Ronin is an 8-year-old Pitbull/American Village Dog mix with a heart as big as the miles he’s traveled. Born in Grenada, raised in Canada, and now living in the U.S., Ronin has followed his mom through every chapter of life. To Ronin, home wasn’t a place—it was wherever she was. Deeply loyal and incredibly smart, Ronin took his role as protector seriously. In unfamiliar places, he was his mom’s source of comfort and security. But over time, that sense of duty weighed on him, making it hard for him to simply relax and enjoy being a dog. Despite consistent training (which he always excelled at!), Ronin struggled to let his guard down—especially without regular reinforcement. Now, Ronin is ready for a fresh start with someone who understands him and can give him the calm, structured, loving environment he deserves. What makes Ronin special: -Extremely intelligent and eager to please -Calm, quiet, and content lounging at home -Loves to run in open spaces and thrives in a fenced yard -Food-motivated—favorites include watermelon and yogurt (just no chicken, please!) -Can be trusted alone in the house for long stretches (10 hours+) -Walks well on a leash in low-stimulation environments Ronin is looking for an experienced dog owner—someone confident and kind, who can help him feel safe and let go of his old worries. He would thrive in a quiet, adult-only home with no other pets, and ideally, a fenced yard where he can zoom and sniff to his heart’s content. Ronin is more than a pet—he's a loyal companion with a story. He just needs someone new to write the next chapter with. Ronin is participating in The Love Pit's iRehome program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ronin, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
