My story

Approximate Age: 3 Approximate Weight: 5lbs I am POLLY POCKET! - Personality In 3 Words: friendly, sweet, people pleasing - Energy Level: Perfect mix of Loyal Companion (70%), Couch Potato (20%), and Queen of Zoomies (10%) - What I Love: Friendly people and dogs, lap sitting and cuddling, a nice fluffy bed with a cozy blanket, outside time, small crinkle toys - My Ideal Home: My people are most important to me but I love the snuggles and company of other dogs. Since I am a Petite Princess, I just need EVERYONE to keep in mind that I can scurry around quickly and can get under feet fast. Don't worry, I won't knock YOU down but I need my adult humans to help keep ME safe. - Good With Other Dogs? YES! I am currently in foster with 5 dogs ranging in size of 12 to 90 pounds. We love each other and the big dogs have lots of experience with littles like me so they look out for me when we are chilling at home. I don't get to join in big dog playtime but I do enjoy outside play/zoomie time with the two other small dogs. - Potty Manners: I like to do my potty business outside. I get regular potty breaks and am excelling at giving ques by heading to the door. I use pee pads inside. - Crate Manners: I get crated at night and when no human is home. Not a fan but am compliant 😀. I spend time in a small indoor play yard and am happy there. - Health Notes and Diet: My diet is currently chicken/turkey kibble. It is unresistable with a little wet topper. I am fed in my play yard because I will try to sneak food from the others during feeding time. We get treats here often but I have to wait until my name is called or I will try to take all the treats. - A Little More About Me: My name fits me! I will use my blanket to completely encompasss me is a pocket. Foster mom calls me "Rockette" because I dance, spin, and leap when I am happy...which is all the time. Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there’s official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Wednesdays 5-7pm, Fridays 6-8pm, and 11 to 3pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week.
