My story

Meet FalkorFalkor, a 1-year-old French Bulldog, came to ACC as a stray found wandering the streets of Queens. She's a charming little blue merle beauty with a wiggly, social personality and a knack for burrowing her head into your lap for attention. She's also facing some medical challenges, and any adopter should be prepared for ongoing veterinary care and the costs that come with it.My Ideal HomeFalkor would thrive in a home where someone can give her the love, patience, and medical attention she needs. Because she has chronic ear issues and a current ear hematoma, she'll need regular vet visits and potentially ongoing treatment. A home with breed experience-especially brachycephalic breeds-would be a big plus. Falkor enjoys gentle walks, snuggles, and quiet indoor time, so she'd be a great match for someone who can keep her comfortable and safe.Good with Kids?She's been friendly with staff, but we haven't yet seen her interact extensively with children. Good with Other Pets?Falkor has shown no negative reactions to other dogs in the shelter, but slow, supervised introductions are always best.Leash MannersShe can be leashed and carried with ease, but during walks she sometimes lags behind-mostly because she's distracted by her itchy ear. Once she's feeling better, her leash manners should improve.Overall HealthFalkor has a chronic ear infection (otitis) and an aural hematoma that may require surgery, along with ongoing care to keep her comfortable and prevent recurrence. As a French Bulldog, she is also prone to breed-specific health issues. Adopters should be prepared for potentially hefty and ongoing vet bills.Behavior Determination & Other NotesFriendly, social, and affectionate, Falkor loves human company and is comfortable being handled. She's easy to lift in and out of her kennel, enjoys quiet time, and will happily soak up any affection you offer.Fun FactsFalkor will "melt" into your lap if you give her the chance.Her blue merle coat is as unique as her personality.She has a knack for making you feel like the most important person in the world when she's with you.
