Stanky Legg (CL-A)

My story

We'd like to introduce you to the best kitten of the "2025 Kitten Season", Stanky Legg. This tiny fighter was found at just 5 days old when a mom cat moved her litter of kittens from under a BBQ pit, but left poor Stanky Legg behind. She had obviously sustained some injury to her back leg, and her rear foot was necrotic and...well...quite stanky. A compassionate woman drove Stanky to Orphan Annie's Neonatal Rescue in Austin at just 5 days old, where she was put on antibiotics, and bottle fed for the next few weeks. She was a great eater, a happy baby, and wanted to live. At 4 weeks old, she was able to have the necrotic portion of her leg removed at the vet, and has been an absolute delight since then.   Our rescue waited a little longer than usual to post her for adoption, as we wanted to evaluate her need for further revision of her stump. We are so happy to announce that the veterinarian agreed that there is no need to amputate more of her limb, and she is cleared for adoption! Stanky Legg is EVERYONE's favorite in her foster home. She is the perfect amount of cuddly and independent you would want in a kitten. She loves to curl up next to you as you work, read, watch tv, or nap. She purrs loudly and often everytime she is picked up or pet. She is very playful, and will entertain herself with little balls, paper wads, or whatever else is available. She plays with and grooms the other smaller kittens in her foster home. And her absolute best friend is an 8 pound little dog that she plays with all day. They wrestle, groom, cuddle, and play chase. Stanky has been hand-raised since right after birth by humans. She greets newcomers at the door, has never met a stranger, and loves her human family and fur family immensely. She's got the most adorable little bangees on her head, has the softest coat imaginable, and is all around our top pick for kitten of the year! ##2487874##
