My story

HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email Brian at bmadison@arl-iowa.org.---- Super sweet dog who has gotten along well with new people- Does great on a leash and loves going on walks and playing in her foster family's fenced yard- Knows sit and is super treat motivated - Rides well in the car - Loves dog beds and her foster family said she has not gotten up on their furniture - Likes being in her kennel, but has also done well when left home alone outside of her kennel - Has been housetrained in her foster home, just remember any dog may need time to adjust to a new schedule and routine - Needs a little extra care when feeding to avoid an upset tummy; using a slow feeder and then kenneling her or making sure she doesn't move around too much until her food settles has been working well for her in a foster home; may also need a similar rest period after drinking water- Has done well with kids while in her foster home- Lived with other dogs previously and has been doing great with a senior dog and a young dog in her foster home All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
