**Note: Hoho is currently in a foster home living with another dog in Innisfil ON. Background Hoho was rescued from a heartbreaking hoarding situation. He was one of 19 dogs abandoned in a parking lot and later taken to a city pound. Thankfully, all 19 dogs were rescued in time. When we found Hoho, his back legs were already paralyzed. We’re not sure what caused it, but our vet believes he may have been living in that condition for years. Hoho lived with other dogs at our partner boarding house until he left Korea. Now he is in a foster home living with another dog in Innisfill Ontarion. Personality & Socialization Hoho is a sweet, mellow, and affectionate boy who loves people. He’s not shy and warms up quickly to both new people and other gentle dogs his size. His favorite thing? Being close to his humans. He’s obedient, calm, and very cuddly — the kind of dog who just wants to be by your side. He hasn’t been tested with cats, but given his friendly and easygoing nature, we believe he could do well with cats after a slow and proper introduction. Behavior & Adaptability Hoho is incredibly adaptable. He’s learned how to move around in his wheelchair like a pro, and he loves being outdoors, going for walks, and just soaking in the world around him. Despite his condition, he’s full of life, curious, and eager to engage. He’s well-behaved at the vet, in the car, and even during grooming and bath time. The only time you’ll hear him bark is when he gets excited for mealtime — other than that, he’s calm and quiet. Health & Care When rescued, Hoho was in terrible shape — severely matted, paralyzed in the back, and suffering from a corneal ulcer in one eye. Since then, he has received thorough veterinary care, including Autologous Serum Therapy (AST) for his eye. His vision is not affected, and the cloudiness in his right eye is continuing to improve and shrink. After a full veterinary checkup, including an MRI, it was diagnosed that Hoho’s back and hind legs were paralyzed. However, we recently had a surprising and exciting experience — he started walking and running about 5–6 steps using his back legs! With consistent exercise and some physiotherapy, there is hope that he may regain more use of his hind legs. He has been neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated, and tested for parasites. He has a healthy appetite, eating dry food twice a day, and has shown no signs of allergies. Ideal Home Hoho would thrive in a calm and loving home with someone who has the time to be present — whether you work from home, are retired, or simply lead a relaxed lifestyle. He doesn’t ask for much, just your time, patience, and love. Although he may need a little help with mobility, he will reward you with endless love, sweet companionship, and his unshakable spirit. His wheelchair will come with him when he’s adopted. Hoho is ready for his forever family — one that sees beyond his disability and recognizes the beautiful heart and loyalty he brings.
