DOUG NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Doug and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (August 24th) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!     Name: Doug       Best Guess for Breed:  Black mouth cur mix   Best Guess for Age:   2 years as of August 2025         SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight:  30 lbs   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! We have tested Doug with some of the cats at the shelter, and he did not seem particularly interested in chasing or pouncing on the cat. While this is a positive sign that Doug could live with a cat, he has not done so to our knowledge. If you have cats in your home, we are happy to discuss with you how to best introduce a new pup to your pack!   Currently Living at:   DC area foster home   Doug is Looking For:  His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this sweetie landed in the shelter. He's eager to have his humans for long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures they can dream up! And he'd love to make pup and people pals along the way. Quality kibble, cushy dog bed, chew dog toys - yes, please, to all those.  But above all he wants to be safe and loved, to know where he belongs - and upon whom to bestow all those happy tail wags, to whom to pledge loyal companionship. Is that going to be you? Is he the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:  Doug is very sweet young pup who is still learning and discovering the world around him. He is doing very well with housetraining. He doesn’t have separation anxiety and does well when left at home. Adopters should be prepared to provide plenty of variety of toys and chews keep him busy and occupied. He is affectionate with his people at home. He is friendly with all, and really likes to play with other dogs. Hi is still on a shy side with strangers but will come for pets if called.  He likes to go for walks and sniff things, he is good on a leash. He also likes car rides and is really good in the car. He is food motivated, therefore likes to learn new tricks and commands. He also wants to learn what it means to be loved and cared for unconditionally, just like he loves and cares about his people. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
