Xenon is getting rave reviews from her foster, who has a dog and a cat and teenagers in the home. Her foster says she’s become fast friends with their dog, and they love playing and hanging out together. Xenon loves toys but is not possessive. Her foster says, “We don't keep a lot of toys around in order to avoid any potential drama, but she shares the tennis ball outside very willingly with our dog. The two have been seen slurping at the same time from the same water bowl. “ She’s also great on the leash - a pleasure to walk, her foster says. “Walks are generally drama-free, and she’s usually unfazed by other dogs,” her foster writes. Occasionally, she will bark at other dogs, as they can catch her off-guard. Even better? Her foster says Xenon is fully potty trained—no accidents! She also goes into her crate willingly and settles down quickly. Xenon has had limited interaction with the family cat, who keeps a distance. She is definitely curious about cats, her foster says. We think she should probably go to a home without cats just to be on the safe side. That said, Xenon gets along great with their other dog. They run and play in the yard and cuddle indoors, her foster says. We believe the best fit for her would be a home with another friendly dog. She does great with the teenagers, although small children might be too unpredictable for her comfort. Her foster explains, “The main thing is that she can be shy and takes a day or two to warm up to new people. Occasionally she is timid (tail tucked) or startled, but always comes back for attention. Very sweet and loves to cuddle.” Xenon, who is a medium sized girl, just 40 pounds, is still young (born in 2023), and this stay in a foster home has really opened up her world in a big way. We’ve loved seeing her blossom like this. If you’re looking for a good -to-the-bone, sweet companion, please fill out an adoption application and come out and meet Xenon.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Xenon, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
