Pricilla is a 4-year-old female who was brought in by animal protection officers as a stray on 8/8. When Priscilla came in, she was in severe heat stroke and was transported to an offsite hospital for care. She is now back and is looking for placement! Medical Notes: Per an exam on 8/10: -BAR Friendly appears healthy -Ears are slightly waxy -Nose has slight discharge -Teeth have slight tartar and yellow discoloration -Scabs and hair loss on hind end Per offsite hospital 8/8: “Presented to ACCT this afternoon in heat stroke, patient had temperature of 108, panting and cyanotic on exam. Was stabilized with IVF boluses, flow by oxygen, and butorphanol. Started breathing normally and more comfortably in hospital. Now she is tachycardic and having diarrhea. She presented here for overnight stabilization and monitoring. -Diarrhea -Mildly dehydrated - Class III malocclusion -Alopecia above the base of the tail, erythematous integument on ventrum -PCV | 43% (08/08/25, 8:00P) -Total Solids (TS) | 6.8g/dL (08/08/25, 8:00P)” Per an exam on 8/8: “Pt brought by APO's in severe heat stroke. Temp = 108.3. Pt was cyanotic and in respiratory distress. Pt was immediately cooled down, given flow by O2 for support. IVC placed, Torb 0.25 mg/kg and aceprom 0.015 mg/kg IV were given. P-lyte bolus 20 ml/kg given x 15 mins, then twice maintenance thereafter. SpO2 = 100% on room air once flow by was d/c'd. APO was concerned she had been HBC as well. Red areas on skin appear to be related to allergies or other skin condition. Full head to tail PE not performed - focused on stabilizing patient. Pt has collar on and looks fairly well cared for. Objective: -Intact female, nipples are pink/inflamed and very minimal lactation from a few. -Alopecia on caudal dorsum, mildly red, crusted areas in various areas noted Assessment: -Main concern - Severe heat stroke, respiratory distress -Bloodwork was ran and unremarkable except for incr in Na. BG continued to be stable through afternoon. -6pm - Pt had bloody D+ ~1 hr prior. Pt still sleeping soundly and concerned that she is still very dull, doesn't want to get up/walk. No interest in food. Having profuse yellow mucoid diarrhea that contains white chunks of unknown material. Sleeping HR = 130, RR= 16 and eupneic, T= 99.5, spO2 = 97%, BG= 112.” Per APO: “Very easy to handle and sweet. Having a possible heat and road brush on her legs.” Behavior Notes: Per staff 8/10: "Did a dog meet with Ultra Man. When face to face, Priscilla was very stiff, had a high stiff tail and was lip licking. Ultra Man walked away from Priscilla and Priscilla walked away too."
