Samson

My story

Samson is special for many reasons. One is that he’s blind in the left eye and other than needing to approach him slowly so as not to surprise him he gets along fine with this handicap. Another reason he’s so special is that he’s incredibly sweet and gentle. Once he’s comfortable with you he’s your BFF! Samson is a five year-old 55 pound Anatolian shepherd mix with beautiful shades of tan, cream and brown. He came in on 8/11 as a stray. He was very scruffy, but was also very patient when I brushed him. At first he was unsure of me and the shelter, but before long he was following me around. Every once in a while, he’d reach up his paw as though he just wanted to pet me. He does sit for treats and takes them gently. He casually strolled around the yard, but when I called him he came. He’s very easy-going, friendly and affectionate. He walks well on a leash. He wants to be in the house cuddling up to you on the couch or at your feet in his pile of blankets.
