My story

Looking for a fun, furry companion? Look no further than Jax! This adult male is the perfect combination of playful, protective, smart, and affectionate. He's an active older gentleman who thinks he's still a puppy.  Since he is both an escape artist and is very active, only older/considerate children, please.  He also loves to make new doggy friends but will steal toys from them or even from kids if available.  Think you're ready to meet your new pal? Don't let this pup wait a second longer. Come and meet Jax today! As he is an older dog, he's a perfect blend of calm and collected with a bit of playful pep in his step! If you are interested in Jax, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to SCP for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays from 11 AM to 2 PM at the Petco in Clear Lake at 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center. Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco.  If you just want to meet some great dogs looking for their forever home, please come visit with us on Saturday!  Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old.  A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $190 (or $245 for puppies) which includes State of Texas sales tax. All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.August 12, 2025, 5:57 am
