My story

Hi! My name is Lil Mama and I am from Kentucky. From her foster: Lil Mama is sweet, calm and athletic, bonds quickly and adapts fast, a pure snuggle bug, great with other dogs, walks well on leash (I use a gentle leader that works great with her), house trained, crate trained, not destructive if left out, very smart, trains easily and very food motivated. She takes treats gently and does this cute twirl and sit before she gets her food bowl. While a fenced yard is not required, she really enjoys patrolling mine for squirrels (her nemesis). I've not yet seen her around kids, but she flinches away from fast moving hands so keep that in mind when introducing her to them. I haven't seen her with cats, but given how squirrels excite her, I'd do slow introductions there. She's just a great all around dog. From the Vet: Lil Mama tested positive for Lyme disease prior to her arrival to Minnesota. TBB will see her for an exam on 9/9 and if determined necessary treat with antibiotics. Sometimes animals have been treated in the past, so a positive result doesn't always indicate an active infection. Previous Lyme infections generally will show positive for the life of the animal, but as long as they are not symptomatic then treatment is not indicated. TBB always recommends flea and tick protection year round, but adopters should consult their primary care vet after adoption.
