My story

Meet Banjo, a strikingly handsome 9-year-old hound with a nose for adventure and a heart full of charm. Banjo's journey hasn’t been easy—since arriving at our shelter on 8/15/22 via Animal Control, he’s been adopted and fostered multiple times, often returning with tales of mischief or as a stray. This lovable troublemaker has a wild spirit; in a home, he tends to chew, dig, and get into just about everything—curtains, carpets, you name it. Banjo was even adopted out of state earlier this year, only to be returned after following his instincts and getting into trouble with the neighbor’s chickens. It's clear Banjo has a hunting background, and he craves the freedom and stimulation that comes with it. He’s sweet, friendly with people and dogs, and incredibly affectionate—he just needs the right environment. Banjo is searching for a home with space to roam, mental stimulation, and an owner who understands his breed and his needs. If you’ve got land, time, and a love for hounds, Banjo might just be your perfect companion.
