My story

If you have an appetite for something new and fun in your life, try Nacho! This boy is affectionate, funny, sweet, loving and talkative. And if you're looking for someone to hug, kiss and snuggle with, Nacho gets an A+ in all these areas. Nacho is one of those cats who gets along with everyone. His previous home had kids ranging from 5-12, feline friends and two teacup dogs. If you're into entertaining, he will be your personal furry butler, greeting your friends and family and looking for pets. He does like to be the center of attention! Nacho is an indoor kitty who is accustomed to going outside with supervision; you wouldn't want to lose this handsome orange boy. Something you should know about Nacho is his affinity for appliances. He's been cited for breaking and entry. Refrigerators (and their contents), the microwave and toaster are all fun to play with. He loves all sorts of toys, but his appliance hobby may require you to do two things: secure your appliances and give him the attention and stimulation a young boy like him needs. Nacho was beloved by his previous person but with a heavy work schedule and other obligations, she could not give him the attention she felt he deserved and did the selfless thing, giving him an opportunity to find a better life. Nacho is ready to park his paws in a new place. Maybe it's yours! Ready to Adopt? You have two options: #1- VISIT IN PERSON Come during our open adoption hours: Tuesday - Saturday,12:30 - 3:00pm. You’ll be able to meet available cats in the shelter. (Cats in foster care are not available for in-person visits.) #2- ADOPT REMOTELY OR PLACE A 24-HOUR HOLD** If you’re ready to adopt without meeting the cat first, or you’d like to place a non-refundable $25 hold to reserve a cat for 24 hours, just call or email us: (413) 781-4000 x 1 springfield@dakinhumane.org. We are often helping other clients when you call, but we return voicemails and emails within 24 hours. **Holds are not available on Saturdays and during adoption events. -------------------------------------------- All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.
