My story

Charlotte’s journey hasn’t been easy, but her spirit shines brighter than ever. She was found by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan, painfully emaciated and covered in ticks, in desperate need of help. We rushed her to the Veterinary Emergency Group, where she received urgent care to begin her healing journey. As we got to know Charlotte, we discovered she had entropion—a painful condition where her eyelids turned inward and irritated her eyes. She has since undergone successful surgery to correct the issue permanently. We also learned she has trigeminal myopathy, a nerve condition that affects the muscles used to close her jaw. While this means she isn’t your “ordinary” dog and may require a touch of unique care, she has adapted beautifully and lives life much like any other pup—just with a little extra resilience and grace. Charlotte’s calm, loving nature has quietly touched everyone at the sanctuary. She’s the kind of dog who changes you—not with grand gestures, but with her gentle spirit, soft presence, and steady heart. She is truly an amazing soul who will reward her forever family with boundless love and loyalty, making every bit of extra care more than worth it.
