My story

What do you call a gorgeous cross between a Pomeranian and a terrier, with creamy tan fur and lack of vision? Annalise! This intrepid heroine launches herself wholeheartedly into the trial and error of figuring out if stuff is in front of her. Annalise strikes boldly out on adventures, and if she hits a wall, that’s okay! She adds it to her mental map and keeps going. While some might think a lack of vision might make one more cautious, Annalise throws caution to the wind. Fortune favors the bold, she thinks, and it’s clear that she is a favorite of fortune, with her fluff and scruff hair and gorgeous little face, she has the looks of a supermodel in addition to a heart of gold. We know that this winning combo will likely be snapped up quickly, so if you want to meet Annalise, come by soon, or she might have already started her post-Muttville adventures as the amazingly cute doggo that keeps bonking into things ™. Here's some notes from her foster: Meet Annalise! This stunning little lady is 10 years young, around 10 lbs, and fully blind — but don’t let that fool you! She’s already impressing us with how quickly she’s mapping out her surroundings. Sure, she bumps into things occasionally, but that’s all part of the process for a smart girl learning her way in a brand-new world. Annalise has the softest fur, the most adorable big fluffy ears, and a gentle spirit to match. She’s quiet and polite, but will let out a little bark or whine if she needs help — like when she accidentally gets stuck in a corner. It’s her sweet way of asking for a hand and letting you know she trusts you. She’s doing great so far with her potty routine — especially impressive for a pup who’s fully blind! With a little help getting outside, she knows exactly what to do and goes right away. She loves soft head and back scritches, is okay being carried when needed, and sleeps soundly in her cozy floor bed at night — the perfect safe spot for a pup who can’t see but deserves all the comfort. So far, she’s a total snoozer — happy to sleep in until 9 or 10am if you let her! She naps most of the day and takes life at her own peaceful pace. But don’t be fooled — this girl loves to eat. She’s incredibly food and treat motivated, and can sniff out her bowl with impressive accuracy. Her love of snacks is helping her build confidence and feel more at home. She’s also starting to show little flashes of playfulness, which has been such a joy to see. We can’t wait to watch her continue to come out of her shell. Annalise gets along beautifully with other dogs and would thrive in a calm, stair-free home where she can feel safe, loved, and supported as she blossoms. If you’ve been looking for a quiet, gentle soul to love — she just might be your girl.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Annalise 13211, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
