Rookie

My story

Rookie is at our shelter. Please submit an application from our website or just come in to meet him during open hours! Rookie is a great dog who came to us from Chicago Animal Care and Control. He is a lively, 1 year old wiggly pup bursting with energy and joy. He was at our shelter for 2 weeks, then spent 8 days in a foster home, where he really shined! Rookie lives with another dog, who is much older than him, with whom he is playful and respectful of. He LOVES playgroup at the shelter and is a rough and rowdy player, you can often find him wrestling in and out of the baby pool with the other young, enthusiastic dogs. He has met so many different dogs and never discriminates, every dog is his friend. Rookie is almost housebroken, and does well free roaming, as long as he's left for reasonable amounts of time. Rookie walks beautifully on a leash, and lives with older children. He loves all people, but older kids are recommended since he is still learning to contain his excitement. Rookie is eager to learn, ready for adventures, and can’t wait to find his family to grow into an amazing dog he’s meant to be. Rookie’s adoption fee is $300. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
