My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee.Adoption fee: $800 Mochi – 4 years old | Shih Tzu | 10 lbs | Professional Foot Warmer   Found wandering the streets and rescued by a Good Samaritan, Mochi quickly charmed her way into our rescue—and our hearts. This sweet little Shih Tzu with her soft, non-shedding coat is ready to find her forever home where she can spend her days keeping close to her favorite humans.   Mochi is an early bird (6 a.m. breakfast enthusiast) and believes the best place in the world is right at your feet. She’s a gentle shadow who will follow you from room to room— yes, even peeking around the laundry room door to make sure you didn’t disappear. She’s a couch potato at heart, but hand her a leash and she’ll happily trot along for a brisk walk, tail wagging the whole way.   Her foster describes her as “absolutely the sweetest little dog,” and her older resident Shih Tzu foster brother thinks she’s his soulmate. Mochi navigates stairs with confidence, loves people, enjoys a good roll in her bed after dinner, and has a smile that could brighten the grumpiest day.   She’s doing well with housetraining as long as she gets regular walks, and while crates aren’t her favorite, she’ll tolerate one if it’s close to your bed. Mochi would be happiest in a home where she can spend her days lounging with her people, soaking up affection, and keeping you company in every room.   Oh— and if you hear gentle snoring from the pillow next to you, don’t worry.
