My story

Meet Maxx – the Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Maxx is a one-year-old red-nosed American Pit Bull Terrier who came to our rescue through no fault of his own. His previous owners loved him dearly, but due to illness, they could no longer care for him. At 71 pounds, Maxx may be a big boy, but he’s really just a gentle soul who thinks he’s a lap dog. Maxx is everything you could want in a best friend — he’s sweet, affectionate, and friendly with everyone he meets. He greets new people with a happy wag and a smile… though sometimes he gets so excited that he jumps up to say hello (a little training will help him master his manners). He knows several commands — sit, eat, lay down, toy, and stop — and is eager to please. This playful pup loves toys, enjoys curling up in a cozy dog bed (or snuggling in his person’s bed if he’s allowed!), and is completely house-trained. He’s also a perfect gentleman in the house when left alone. Maxx gets along well with other dogs, but he has never lived with cats. He’s great with children and thrives in a loving home environment. Like many dogs, loud noises such as fireworks make him a bit anxious, but with reassurance from his people, he settles just fine. Most of all, Maxx is ready to give his whole heart to a family who will love him forever.
