My story

Meet Metallica – The Fluffy Rockstar in Training! At 27 pounds of pure fluff and heart-melting expressions, Metallica is ready to find a family who understands that he’s still learning what it means to be a loved companion. This handsome boy joined the Freedom Frenchie Rescue squad in a large breeder release of 13 dogs. Just a week ago, he was too scared to leave his crate, stressed from the long drive, and unsure about the world outside. Now? We open the crate door and he comes flying out, tail high, and trots straight to the yard to go potty! He’s only had one accident in his crate — and honestly, after all he’s been through, we’d call that a win. Exploration personality: Metallica is still figuring out life in a home, and he learns more each day by watching his foster siblings. He’s started to explore toys, enjoys delicate playtime with his buddy Mercy, and is realizing that treats (especially broth bones!) are the best thing ever. He’s a little picky with food, so his meals stay in his crate for him to enjoy at his own pace. A probiotic is helping him adjust to a healthier diet. Metallica like some of the others are trying to maintain regular bowel movements. It seems like some of them are just not having solid poos and it was very imperative that we kept all of them on the same food as prior and we have done that. We are going to wait a few more days before adjusting diet, considering anesthesia could be affecting this also This boy’s expressive eyebrows and soulful eyes tell the story of a sweet, eager-to-learn pup who wants nothing more than to be part of a family. He’s already mastered bedtime — settling in around 9 p.m. and sleeping through the night like a pro. Healthy medical: Metallica was recently neutered and is recovering beautifully. He had his vaccines as well and received a great health check from our vet. His hike peeing is still happening but now he goes back and forth depending on how many males have hiked in the same spot. He’s still learning polite manners with female dogs (the breeder life taught him some habits we’re gently undoing), but he’s making great progress with consistent redirection and structure. He’s been through a whirlwind: transport from the breeder, meeting new dogs, a vet visit, surgery, and a brand-new environment — yet he’s still curious, resilient, and full of potential. Foster pupdate: For only having this guy for a week he is resilient, he is now coming out of his crate on his own with excitement to go outside and enjoy the yard life. Metallica really loves to sit in the misters then into the sun then back to the misters, He’s a smart fella and picking up on a family life with consistency really quickly.
