My story

This amber beauty is as sweet as she is beautiful. With a rich red coat, and those big beautiful eyes, you are destined to fall in love with her. Lucy is a sweet girl who wants to love and be loved. She will be your very best friend, if you will be hers! HISTORY Lucy was found as a stray with 2 littermates in Richland, WA. Though we have searched for their rightful owners, we have not been unsuccessful in having anyone claim them as theirs. Since we don’t know their true DOB, we have designated 5/5/25 as their DOB. Lucy is located in Kennewick, in Eastern Washington. We share information about our dogs in postings based in other cities to improve their chances of finding a great forever home. She is well worth a road trip, and we encourage you to come and meet him before you decide she should join your family! SOCIALIZATION, TEMPERAMENT AND TRAINING While we don’t know much about her, we do know that she is dog and people friendly. She has met a couple other dogs in our care, but does not have extensive experience that we know of. She is a puppy, and does not realize her size, so she may knock over small children in her excitement. She is excited to meet anyone who is willing to love on her. This girl LOVES water. If you take this girl home, you gotta get her a pool and watch her play in it– she is a joy! Lucy loves to be held, play with her littermates. She tried to engage in play with the small dog she met at her assessment, but she cared a lot more about receiving affection. Lucy is just a baby, she is young and eager to learn how to be a good family dog. She'd love you to take her to school so she can learn ALL the skills she needs to be her best self. This would be beneficial for you as her pet parent(s) as well so that you can learn to communicate effectively with her, and teach her to be confident. She is still working on potty training. It's important to remember: Lucy is a puppy, and PUPPIES ARE HARD WORK! This little girl is just getting started - she has sharp nails and needle teeth, and loves to pounce on shoes and grab hold and tug on anything that moves! As far as she’s concerned, anything and everything is for play. She still has everything to learn about being a civilized member of a mainly-human family. She will trip you up, piddle on your rug, and chew your stuff. Please don't apply to adopt Lucy unless you're sure you have the time, energy and desire to raise her right! HEALTH STATUS General info She is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and dewormed. She appears to be in good health. Once full grown, she will likely be somewhere in the 50-70 lbs range. HART does not support pediatric spay/neuter, so Lucy has not been sterilized. You will be required in terms of the adoption contract to have your pup sterilized by the time they are 6 months old. At your request, HART will refund you $100 upon receiving proof of sterilization. ADOPTION The adoption fee for Lucy is $425. For more pictures of Lucy, see her Facebook album at: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1064122105868878&type=3 To apply to adopt Lucy, please complete our online adoption application at https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAWA/Dog, or email hearthfireART@gmail.com and request an adoption application form. HART dogs live in foster homes, not in a kennel facility. To respect our fosters' privacy, we make our dogs available to meet adopters only after an adoption has been approved.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Lucy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
