Ziggy

My story

Ziggy is a 5-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog who has had a rocky start in life, but he’s finally getting the chance he deserves. We were contacted about Ziggy when he was found loose in town. When returned home, his former owner admitted they didn’t want him anymore and even threatened to abandon him (or worse) if we didn’t take him right then. We were told stories of destruction and accidents in the home — but since coming into our care, Ziggy has been nothing but a sweetheart. Ziggy already knows basic commands, and he’s shown us that he’s a laid-back, easygoing dog, especially when paired with other calm dogs. While we’re not sure yet how he does with cats, he’s done well with other dogs in our care. We were told he wasn’t housetrained, but he’s had very few accidents here and keeps his kennel clean. He loves spending time outdoors with staff — whether it’s cuddling, playing, or simply soaking up the sunshine. Ziggy is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and health tested, making him ready to find a safe, loving forever home. Ziggy has been through a lot, but he hasn’t let it dim his gentle, affectionate spirit.
